Daily Scripture

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding; 
in all your ways acknowledge him, 
and he will make your paths straight.”
Proverbs 3:5-6, NIV

Daily Encouragement

Trusting in the Lord is vital and wise. Sometimes it may feel like we can’t trust anyone, not even God—But God is the only one who we can trust 100%! God knows what is best for all of us. To trust God with all your heart is trusting Him completely with your choices and following His direction. To do that, we must lean on Him and His understanding, not our understanding.



To lean on something means to put all of your weight on something or to fully rely on something for your support. When we are leaning on God, He is our support and He carries all of our weight, which includes our worries, problems, decisions, needs, life directions, etc. Through acknowledging God and leaning on Him, He will straighten your path with His guidance, direction, and protection. Acknowledging God in all your ways means fully committing every area of your life to Him.

Daily Reflection

Is there an area of your life that you need to fully trust God? Any area that you need to acknowledge Him? Are you leaning on God’s understanding or being wise in your own eyes? Pray and ask God to help you acknowledge Him, lean on Him, and Trust in Him with all of your heart. For further study, you should read the full chapter of Proverbs 3, or read through the whole book of Proverbs for more about wisdom.
